The TorchWay Philosophy
At its core, TorchWay was built on a simple belief: strong curriculum makes excellence teachable and learning enjoyable. It ensures that students are not just completing tasks, but developing control, confidence, and consistency in their thinking and writing.
As our work has grown, so too has the need beyond traditional school settings. Families and homeschooling providers are navigating similar challenges - wanting learning that is rigorous, meaningful, and clearly structured, but also flexible enough to suit their unique context.
TorchWay now extends this same curriculum expertise to the homeschooling pathway. We support families to design learning that is purposeful and cohesive, while remaining adaptable to the rhythms of home education. Whether working within syllabus frameworks or developing personalised programs, our focus remains the same: creating curriculum that builds understanding over time, and supports every learner to grow with clarity and confidence.
Our Founder
Rebekah Sharrott is the founder of TorchWay Education and an educator with over a decade of experience in both primary and secondary contexts. Having worked across both regional and metropolitan schools, she most recently held a leadership role at one of Queensland’s top independent colleges. Over the years, she has supported students in achieving outstanding results across HSC, QCE, and IB Diploma pathways.
She holds a double degree in Arts and Education as well as a Master of Education, grounding her work in both disciplinary expertise and advanced pedagogical theory. She regularly presents at teaching conferences and contributes to professional journals, sharing her work on curriculum design, writing instruction, and the conditions that enable deep thinking.
TorchWay Education was founded from a conviction that strong curriculum design should make academic excellence both teachable and learning enjoyable.
