Both options are academically rigorous, syllabus-aligned, and designed to strengthen analytical writing and conceptual clarity. The difference lies in scope, length, and level of integration.
Catalogue Units
Catalogue units are structured, text-focused programs designed for immediate implementation.
They include:
A sequenced teaching booklet (containing 25 lessons)
Predominantly analytical focus, with one integrated creative task
One modelled and annotated paragraph
The FORGE essay planning framework
Catalogue units are ideal for faculties seeking a high-quality, ready-to-use resource that reduces planning load while maintaining strong academic rigour.
Bespoke (Commissioned) Units
Bespoke units are architected specifically for your faculty context, cohort needs, and assessment design.
In addition to everything included in catalogue units, they may incorporate:
Extended booklet length and deeper conceptual layering
A comprehensive program document aligned explicitly to syllabus outcomes
Built-in differentiation strategies and scaffolding
Bespoke conceptual through-line across the unit
Structured progression towards your own faculty assessment tasks
Writing mode strategically aligned to your selected assessment context (analytical, creative, persuasive, or anything else)
Incorporation of your faculty’s frameworks and metalanguage (or implementation of TorchWay’s FORGE and SHAPE frameworks)
Cross-text comparisons or wider reading integration (where desired)
Theoretical lenses, where appropriate to course level
Multi-year or faculty-wide curriculum mapping
Implementation consultation through Beacon and Lighthouse packages
Bespoke design is suited to faculties seeking deeper structural cohesion, conceptual integration, or a broader curriculum redevelopment.

Yes. TorchWay’s bespoke curriculum packages are designed specifically around your faculty’s assessment tasks, syllabus requirements, and internal marking frameworks.
Rather than adapting pre-existing materials, commissioned units are architected from the outset to align with your school’s assessment design, conceptual priorities, and student cohort. This ensures that the resulting program integrates naturally into your existing curriculum while strengthening clarity, coherence, and moderation consistency across classes.
-
TorchWay Signature Series units are available as immediate digital downloads upon purchase, allowing faculties to implement structured, syllabus-aligned programs without delay.
Bespoke curriculum packages require a minimum three-week lead time. This timeframe ensures careful conceptual planning, explicit syllabus alignment, and the deliberate structuring necessary to support clarity, coherence, and moderation consistency across your faculty.
For larger-scale projects — such as year-level suites or multi-year curriculum design — timelines will be discussed and agreed upon during initial consultation.
